This indoor playground for a shopping mall in Tajikistan covers about 350 m2 on the third floor. The order value was USD 65,000.

The client was a mall tenant rather than a park operator, which changes the brief: the play area has to fit inside the floor they occupy, keep the exits clear and open without disrupting the rest of the building.

indoor playground with slides and a ball pit for a shopping mall in tajikistan

A 350 m2 soft play area on the third floor

At this size the layout has to work harder. The climbing frame, the ball pit and the toddler corner share one floor, so the circulation between them decides how many children the venue can hold at once.

The ceiling height set the height of the main structure; the columns decided where the zones break.

Indoor playground equipment for a mall tenant

The package covered a multi-level climbing frame with slides, a ball pit, a toddler zone and the padding around each structure.

For a tenant, the equipment list is also a tenancy document: the landlord wants to know the floor loading, the fixing method and what happens at the end of the term.

Planning installation around mall hours

The equipment ships as a set of structures that follow the approved drawing. Installation runs outside trading hours, and the delivery route and lift capacity are checked before the shipping date is fixed.

What the landlord and the operator agreed

  • The floor loading and the fixing method
  • The safety surface and its depth under each structure
  • The fire exits and the access route for the delivery
  • Who maintains the padding and the netting after handover

If the floor also has room for a ride, an indoor play centre and a coffee cup ride are usually planned together.

Questions this project raised

01

How much ceiling height does a 350 m2 play area need?

It depends on the tallest structure. A low soft-play unit works from about 4 m; a multi-level frame with a spiral slide needs more. Send the floor plan and we will size it.

02

Can the zone be expanded later?

Yes, if the first layout leaves spare floor. That is decided on the drawing rather than after the equipment arrives.
