HOW TO SPECIFY IT

Specify the Outdoor Unpowered Play Zone like a buyer, not a catalogue

Three short notes. Open the one you need — no sales talk.

How to read the numbers before you ask for a price
01Footprint & dimensions

Check the required area against your site, plus the safety envelope, queue space and maintenance access.

02Capacity & throughput

Seats per cycle and cycle time set the realistic hourly throughput. Match it to your peak window, not the daily average.

03Power & utilities

This model: None for the play equipment. Your transformer, cabling and control room have to match it. Anything missing becomes extra civil or electrical work.

04Weight & installation

Total weight and base requirements decide the foundation, the lifting plan and the installation schedule.

Which tier fits your project
START STANDARD

The standard model

It already covers the footprint, capacity and appearance that most parks, malls and fairs can operate.

MOVE UP

Higher capacity or scale

Choose a larger model when your peak window, your landmark position or your ticket price needs more throughput.

GO CUSTOM

Themed or custom build

When theme, capacity or site conditions fall outside the standard range, the appearance and configuration are engineered for your project.

Buying notes for the Outdoor Unpowered Play Zone

An unpowered play zone is the part of a park that runs all day without a motor, a control panel or an operator. Slides, climbing nets, jump pillows and obstacle courses do the work, and visitors set their own pace. Two recent projects show how that works in practice: I-City in Malaysia and Home Invest in the Philippines.

DINIS designs and builds these zones as a package: layout, structures, safety surface and installation, sized to the plot you have.

What goes into an unpowered play zone

SLIDES

Large slides and tower combinations

Tower platforms with spiral or straight slides, sized by the height the site allows. They are the centrepiece of most zones and the first thing visitors photograph.

CLIMBING

Nets, walls and rope courses

Climbing structures for different ages, from low nets for younger children to taller rope courses that hold teenagers for half an hour.

JUMPING

Jump pillows and trampoline beds

Inflatable or sprung jump surfaces that take a large number of children at once with no queue and no operator.

Why parks add unpowered play

Powered rides earn per ticket. An unpowered zone earns by keeping families on site: children play for an hour, parents buy food and drink, and the visit lasts longer than the ride tokens do.

It also runs without staff and without power. There is no operating roster, no control system and no ride cycle to manage, which is why the zone suits resorts, scenic areas and camping parks that do not want a ride operation.

Sizing the zone to your site

Start with the plot and the age group, not with a catalogue of structures. A zone for children under six needs different equipment from a zone aimed at eight to fourteen year olds, and mixing the two without separation creates conflict.

  1. Send the plot plan

Shape, slope, access and the position of trees or buildings all change the layout.

  2. Agree the age group

One zone for younger children, one for older, or a single zone with separated areas.

  3. Receive the layout

We return a drawing with the structures positioned, the circulation routes and the safety surface marked.

  4. Production and installation

Structures are produced to the drawing, shipped, and installed with the surface work.

Safety surface and inspection

The surface under the equipment matters as much as the equipment. Impact-absorbing surfaces are specified to the fall height of each structure, and the drawing states where each one is needed.

Ask for the maintenance schedule with the delivery: fixings, net tension, slide joints and surface depth are the four items that decide whether a zone stays safe after two seasons.

How it fits with the rest of the park

Most projects combine a play zone with a park train or a carousel, so the park has something for every age without becoming a ride park. Our park design team can lay the zone out with the rides, the walkways and the food units in one plan.

If you are starting from an empty site, the new park solution page sets out how the phases usually run.

Questions buyers ask about unpowered play zones

01

Do you supply the safety surface?

The surface is specified with the layout and can be included in the package or left to a local contractor working to our drawing.

02

Can the zone be installed indoors?

Yes, with the clear height the tallest structure needs. Send the hall drawing and we will check it.

03

How long does a project take?

Production depends on the structures chosen. Send the layout and we will confirm the schedule with the quotation.

04

Do we need staff to run it?

No operator is required for the equipment itself. Most parks keep one attendant at the entrance for supervision and ticketing.

05

Is it suitable for a resort rather than a park?

It is one of the most common resort additions, because it needs no power and no ride roster.

06

Can we add structures later?

Yes. A zone is designed with spare space, so a second tower or a jump pillow can be added without moving the first phase.

Scope: layout design, structures, safety surface specification and installation guidance. The package is quoted against your plot and the structures you choose.
