Das indoor play centre in Turkmenistan was built for a shopping mall, covering about 1,000 m2 on the third floor. The order value was USD 150,000.
The operator had more than 5,000 m2 in the building and set aside a third-floor area for play. At that size the project is a layout rather than a single structure.

Designing a 1,000 m2 indoor playground on one floor
The floor plan drives everything: the ceiling height sets how tall the climbing frame can be, the columns decide where the zones break, and the exits decide where the circulation runs.
The layout put a toddler zone at the entrance, the multi-level structure in the middle and a seating area along the glazing, so parents can watch every zone from one place.
Soft play equipment that fits the ceiling height
Ein Indoor-Spielzentrum is only as good as its height budget. A low ceiling takes a wide soft play unit; a taller floor takes a multi-level tower with a spiral slide.
Padding, netting and the fall height under each platform were specified with the drawing rather than chosen on site. That is the part an inspector asks about first.
Installing an indoor play centre in a live mall
The equipment ships as a set of structures that follow the approved layout. Installation was scheduled around the mall’s opening hours so the work did not block the escalators or the fire exits.
Because the play area sits on a trading floor, the delivery route and the lift capacity were checked before the shipping date was fixed.
What the operator planned before the equipment arrived
- A floor plan with columns, exits and ceiling height marked
- The age split between the toddler zone and the active zone
- The safety surface specification for each structure
- A reception and seating area with a sightline to every zone
If the building also has space for a ride, Die coffee cup ride is the usual companion piece.
Questions this project raised
How do you install a play centre in a trading mall?
The equipment arrives as a set of structures that follow the approved drawing, and the work runs outside opening hours. The delivery route and lift capacity are checked before shipping.
Who looks after the padding and the netting?
Normally the operator. The handover lists the inspection points and the intervals, and the replacement padding is ordered against the same drawing as the original.
