Buying notes for the Kids Carousel for Sale
A children’s carousel is the ride that decides whether a family stays for one more hour. Children run to it first, it photographs well, and it keeps earning with almost no operator attention. That is why it is usually the first ride bought for a new family venue and the last one retired.
This page covers the three sizes DINIS builds — 16, 24 and 26 seats — the figures you can choose, the siting and power each size needs, and what actually moves the price. If you already know your floor plan and opening date, send them and we will shortlist the models for you.
Kids carousel for sale: which size fits your venue?
The seat count comes first, because it decides the platform diameter, the power supply and the price. Theme, figures and lighting hang off that decision rather than the other way round. Once the size is settled, the carousel ride for sale page lists every model with platform diameter and factory price band side by side.
Choose 16 seats when the roof height is fixed, the floor plate is tight, or the ride sits indoors. It is the size that goes into a mall atrium, an indoor play centre or a covered family area without structural work, and it travels in a single 20GP container.
Choose 24 or 26 seats when the carousel stands outdoors and you expect a queue at weekends. The larger platform carries more riders per cycle, gives you room for carriages alongside the horses, and reads as a landmark from the far end of the park.
Not sure what your site can take? Send the plot or floor plan with the ceiling height and we will confirm which platform fits, where to place it, and how much clear space the fence line needs.
The figure depends on the seat count, the transmission, the figure set and whether a fence is fitted. Ask for a band with the figures included rather than a bare platform price.

Kids carousel for sale: sizing from the plot and the weekend queue
Seat count is not a taste decision. Two numbers settle it: the ground you can give the ride, and how many children you expect in your busiest hour.
| Plot you can give | Platform and seats | Riders an hour at a 3-minute cycle | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 x 6 m, plus the fence line | 16 seats on a 6 m platform | About 190 riders, at 70% of a full platform | Atrium, indoor play centre, plaza corner |
| 8 x 8 m, plus the fence line | 24 seats on an 8 m platform | About 280 riders | Family park on the walking route, resort courtyard |
| 9 x 9 m, plus the fence line | 26 seats on an 8.5 m platform | About 300 riders | Family park where the carousel anchors a whole zone |
Those figures come from the platform rather than from a promise. A three-minute cycle is the working assumption, with the ride turning at 5 rpm and boarding taking the rest of the time, and a full 16-seat platform is 320 riders an hour while a 24-seat platform is 480. Plan on 60 to 70% of that in practice, and let the queue you see on a Saturday decide whether the middle row is the right buy.
On the revenue side the arithmetic is short: riders an hour, multiplied by your opening hours and your ticket price. A site that only opens at weekends needs a higher ticket to reach the same weekly figure as one that trades seven days, and that ticket usually sets the ceiling on the build. Where the plot allows 9 x 9 m and the queue is long, the 26-seat platform earns the difference back; where the queue is short, the 16-seat model does the same job on a more compact platform and a lower power bill.
What decides the price of a kids carousel ride
Two carousels with the same seat count can differ by a wide margin. These are the items that move the number, roughly in the order they matter.
- Seat count and platform diameter
- Transmission: lower drive or upper drive
- Figure set: lifting horses, carriages, themed animals
- Canopy styling, cornice and lighting
- Fencing, ground works and the container plan
Ask for a price band with the figure set included rather than a bare platform figure. The gap between two quotes is almost always in the figures and the lighting, not in the frame.
Kids carousel themes: the figures that sell the ride
The figures are the part visitors remember, and they are the part you can make your own. DINIS produces lifting horses, carriages, animal figures and full themed sets, and you can mix them on one platform.
Bring us a theme, a colour scheme or a character direction. The design team matches the figures, the canopy and the lighting to it, so the ride belongs to the zone around it instead of looking bought in.
If the carousel will sit inside a themed area, tell us the story before the figures are chosen. Changing the figure set later costs more than choosing it once.

Where a kids merry go round earns best
Mall atrium
A 16-seat carousel turns dead atrium space into a paid attraction. It runs on a φ6 m platform, needs 5 kW and gives parents a reason to stay through a shopping trip.
Indoor play centre
The ride doubles your dwell time with almost no staffing. Check the clear height first — this is the one measurement that decides the size.
Outdoor family park
A 24 or 26-seat platform handles weekend queues and anchors the family zone. Offer it alongside trains and family rides for a full day out.
Resort and scenic area
Guests photograph it and share it. Pair it with a sightseeing train and you have two attractions that sell each other.

Kids carousel siting: power, clearance and the base
Measure from the floor up, not from the platform. A carousel needs its equipment height plus clearance for the lifting stroke, which is the measurement most indoor projects get wrong on the first pass.
If your supply differs from 380V, tell us early. It is a straightforward change on the electrical side before production, and an expensive one after shipment.
Kids carousel delivery, installation and documents
- Operation and maintenance manual
- Inspection records for the frame and the drive
- Installation drawings and written guidance
- Nameplate and conformity documents
- Level base cast to the drawing
- Power supply at the agreed point
- Access for the container and lifting equipment
- Clear height confirmed before shipment
A 16-seat carousel travels in one 20GP container at about 2,500 kg of shipping weight. Larger platforms move in a 40HQ, and the packing list and container plan are issued with the order so your site team can plan the day.
Kids carousel buying checklist
- Confirm the clear height and the platform diameter you can take
- Decide lower drive or upper drive before the quotation
- Choose the figure set and the theme in the same pass
- Confirm whether fencing is required on site
- Check the power supply and the distance to the connection point
- Plan the container delivery date against your opening date
Kids carousel questions buyers ask
How long does production take?
Standard models run on a fixed schedule and themed builds take longer because of the figures. We confirm the date in writing with the quotation.
Can the figures be changed later?
Yes, figures and carriages are available separately. Planning them with the order is cheaper than shipping them afterwards.
Do you supply the fence?
Yes. A powder-coated iron fence is available for indoor venues and for any site that needs a defined ride area.
Which size suits a mall?
The 16-seat model on the φ6 m platform is the usual answer for a mall. It keeps the clear height and the service charges manageable. See the indoor carousel page for that setup.
Can we start with one and add more later?
Many operators do. Start with the platform your site allows, prove the traffic, then add rides next to it.
How many riders an hour can a kids carousel take?
A full 16-seat platform is about 320 riders an hour on a three-minute cycle, and a 24-seat platform about 480. Plan on 60 to 70% of that once boarding and un-boarding are realistic.
What is the price band?
Children’s carousels from DINIS run from US$12,400 for the 16-seat animal theme to US$45,000 for the 26-seat Dream Star. The exact figure depends on the figures, the drive and the fence.
How to get a kids carousel quotation
- Send the site
Give us the floor plan or plot size, and the clear height if the ride sits indoors.
- Tell us the audience
The target age group and the capacity you expect on a busy day decide the platform.
- Choose or ask for a theme
Bring a theme, a colour scheme or a character direction, or ask us to propose one.
- Get the drawing and the band
We come back with the model, the layout drawing, the price band and the production date.
Compare the other carousel directions first if you are still choosing: the animal theme carousel, the amusement park carousel for sale and the carousel for adult riders all use the same platforms with a different figure set. The whole range sits on the carousel category page.
Ask DINIS about your site
Send the country, the site size, the target visitors and your opening date. We will answer with the model that fits, the layout drawing and a price band rather than a catalogue page.
- Country
- Site size or plan
- Indoor or outdoor
- Rides you have in mind
- Opening date
