Coffee Cup Ride

A coffee cup ride is the simplest ride in a family park and often the one children ask for first. Nine cups turn on a nine metre platform, and each cup spins at its own pace.

Every cup sits on its own bearing, so the platform turns one way and the cups turn another. Riders control the extra spin with a wheel in the middle of the cup, which is why the ride suits children and adults in the same queue.

Nine cups, twenty-seven riders

Three riders fit in each cup, so a family of three or four rides in one turn. The cycle is short and the platform is easy to load, which keeps the queue moving on a busy afternoon.
