Start with the site, not the catalogue
Four measurements rule out more models than any specification sheet does. Take them before you look at a single design.
Ceiling height indoors
An indoor carousel has one hard limit: the ceiling. Die Plattform, the canopy and the lifting horses all sit under it. If you are placing the ride in a mall atrium or a family entertainment centre, measure the clear height first and tell us the figure — it decides the platform before the decoration does.
Lärm, if the ride is inside
The drive system changes how the carousel sounds from a metre away. An upper drive keeps the mechanism in the canopy and runs quietest; a lower drive puts it under the platform, which is cheaper and louder. In a covered venue or beside a food court, that difference decides which drive you should be pricing.
Match the capacity to your peak hour

Quietest, highest cost

Similar look, lower cost

Simplest and cheapest

Inspect the build, part by part
A carousel is not one purchase, it is a list of components that fail in different ways. These are the seven items worth asking any supplier to show you, in person or in production photographs.
- Motor and gearbox: ask for the brand and the gearbox model, and for the installed power rather than the running power
- Elektrisches Zubehör: contactors, inverters and the control panel — the parts that decide how easy the ride is to service locally
- Getriebepleuel: how the drive reaches the turntable, and how much of it can be replaced without dismantling the platform
- Horse pole and cage: wall thickness and the welding process, because this carries the load every cycle
- Figuren und Farbe: whether the FRP is moulded in-house, and how many coats the finish takes — a painted figure on a thin shell looks tired after one season outdoors
- Turntable and base frame: plate thickness, the bearing arrangement and how the frame is levelled on site
- Documents: CE -Zertifizierung, the test run before shipment, and the operation and maintenance manual
Check the manufacturer, not only the machine
Two suppliers can quote the same drawing and deliver very different equipment. Ask how long the factory has been building rides, how many carousels it produces in a year, and who answers when a part fails in year two. Every carousel we ship is assembled and test run in the plant. If a supplier cannot show you that stage on the machine you are buying, you are buying a drawing rather than a product.
Time the order against your opening date
Production on a standard carousel runs about 35 Tage, before freight. A custom decoration package adds design and painting time, so the run-up to a holiday opening is the worst moment to be finalising artwork.
Peak season and the discount window
Our busiest months run up to the year-end holidays and the spring fair season, and that is when the paint shop queue is longest. Buyers who order in the quiet months get two advantages: a shorter production slot and access to the promotions we run outside peak season. If your opening date is fixed, work backwards from it — allow three months from order to installation for a standard build, and longer if the figures are being designed from scratch.
