If you are budgeting a wheel for your site, you are probably asking one question: how much does a ferris wheel cost? The honest answer is a range, because six things change the price before shipping is even added. This page explains each of them, using the models DINIS builds as the reference.
Two numbers first, so you have a starting point. Our 42 m observation wheel starts at US$199,200 from the factory, and the 50 m conventional truss wheel starts at US$345,000. Everything below explains why two buyers can be quoted differently for the same height.

What actually decides the price of a ferris wheel
1. Height and pod count
Height is the biggest single driver, but the pod count is what most buyers underestimate. A 42 m wheel carries 24 pods of four passengers, which is 96 riders per turn. The 50 m conventional truss wheel carries 32 pods, or 128 riders.
More pods mean more steel, more doors, more lighting and a stronger drive system. That is why the jump from 42 m to 50 m is a bigger step in price than the eight metres suggests.
2. Pod specification and air conditioning
Standard pods are enclosed with fixed glazing. Air conditioning is an option, and in hot climates it is the option buyers most often regret leaving out. It is priced separately, pod by pod.
3. Lighting
Single-sided lighting is the standard package. Double-sided lighting costs more because it roughly doubles the number of fixtures and the wiring inside the structure. For a wheel that has to look good from a road on both sides, it is usually worth it.
4. Drive and power
The 42 m wheel uses 1.5 kW at each of eight drive points, so about 12 kW in total. The 50 m wheel is rated at 25 kW with an 18 kW drive. Higher power means a bigger control cabinet and heavier cabling, which appears in the quotation.
5. Freight and containers
A 42 m wheel ships in about 6 x 40HQ containers, and the 50 m wheel in about 8 x 40HQ. Freight is quoted separately and depends on your port, so always ask your forwarder before you compare final prices.
6. Foundation and installation
The concrete base, anchor bolts, crane and installation team are usually local work. The wheel arrives with the base loads and drawings, and your contractor builds to them.
Current price anchors in the DINIS range
| Model | Capacity | Land needed | Factory price from |
|---|---|---|---|
| 42 m observation wheel | 96 riders (24 pods) | 20 x 20 m | US$199,200 |
| 50 m conventional truss wheel | 128 riders (32 pods) | 35 x 32 m | US$345,000 |
Wheels above 50 m are quoted per project, because the pod specification, the lighting package and the site conditions change too much to publish a single figure. See the full range on the ferris wheel category page.
Why two quotes for the same height can differ
Buyers often compare two suppliers on height alone, then wonder why the numbers are far apart. Ask what is inside each quote: pod count, air conditioning, lighting on one or two sides, spare parts, documentation and whether installation supervision is included.
A cheaper quote usually means fewer pods, no air conditioning, or no installation support. None of those are wrong, but they are different products.
How much does a ferris wheel cost in total: what is quoted separately
- International freight, insurance and customs clearance
- The concrete foundation and steel base work
- The crane and the local installation team
- Power supply to the wheel and local electrical work
- Local inspection, certification and the operating licence
Budget these five items early. On most wheel projects they are a real part of the total, and leaving them out is how a project runs out of money in the last month.
How to compare wheel quotes in ten minutes
Put every offer into one table, then check: riders per turn, land required, power, container count, what is included, what is excluded, and the delivery date. If a quote cannot answer those seven lines, it is not comparable yet.
The ferris wheel range page lists the models in one place, so you can line them up against the offers in front of you.
Questions buyers ask about ferris wheel prices
Is the price negotiable?
Factory pricing depends on the configuration and the order timing, and promotions are usually announced before the buying season. Ask what is included rather than only what it costs.
Does the price include air conditioning?
No. Pod air conditioning is an option and is priced separately, pod by pod.
How long is the lead time?
Production is around 35 days. Shipping then depends on your port and schedule, and installation depends on how ready your site is.
