25-Seat Giant Pendulum

A 25-seat giant pendulum tells visitors what kind of park they are standing in. It swings to 100 degrees, lifts them to 14.9 m and turns them while they swing, all from an 11.6 m structure.

That makes it a thrill anchor, and a thrill anchor is judged on two things: whether your park has the audience for it, and whether your plot can carry the space around it.

The footprint is 20 x 18.5 m, but the safety envelope is 28 x 18.5 m with 18 m of clear height. The extra ring belongs to the swing rather than to the machine, and it is the part of the plan that catches buyers out.

Fence line, queue and landscaping all sit outside that envelope. Put a walkway behind it so the swing always happens in front of an audience.

Twenty-five riders per cycle: what a peak hour looks like

A swing cycle including loading runs about three minutes, so plan for roughly 350 to 400 riders an hour when the queue is steady.

That throughput is why the pendulum holds a queue. Visitors can see the whole cycle from the walkway, and the ride reads as worth the wait.

Power and the drive system

Installed power is 80 kW: two 30 kW swing motors and a 7.5 kW rotation motor. The ride is top-driven, which keeps the mechanism above the platform and out of the visitor area.

The turntable diameter is 5.48 m and the rotation speed is capped at 7.5 rpm, so the spinning part of the cycle stays comfortable while the swing does the work.

Twelve years of design life: planning the service side

The designed service life is 12 years. Before you order, ask for the recommended spare-parts list and the inspection intervals, then match them to the maintenance team you already have.

One year of warranty is included, plus lifetime maintenance support. Most buyers keep a short list of swing and rotation parts on site so a busy weekend is never interrupted.
